The National Initiatives and Performance Directorate develops cross-divisional policy proposals and strategic projects and pursues opportunities to leverage national policy reform. The work of the National Initiatives and Performance Directorate aims to position NSW as a national leader in education and Aboriginal affairs. It is also responsible for managing national performance and accountability processes to ensure milestones are met and to secure the best possible national policy and resourcing outcomes for NSW.

Tish Creenaune and Jacki Hayes(Director of National Initiatives and Performance)
Tish Creenaune and Jacki Hayes job share the role of Director of National Initiatives and Performance. They are jointly responsible for the development of innovative and strategic policy initiatives that involve cross-Departmental, cross-sectoral and cross-jurisdictional coordination. Their directorate provides expert analysis and advice on emerging national policy areas and developments that are of strategic significance to education in NSW. The directorate also manages the Department’s national performance and accountability requirements. Jacki has held a number of senior positions in the Department of Education and in Communities NSW. She has also worked across a range of policy areas in the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Prior to joining the NSW public service, Jacki worked in both the non-government and corporate sectors. Tish is the former Director of Policy at Women NSW and has been a senior policy planner and strategic project manager in the NSW Public sector for many years. As a former teacher, she has experience in the education and training, communities and social policy fields.
