EXAR strengthens educational and community outcomes by leading strategic reform initiatives, securing national and State funding for education services, distributing funding to non-government schools and to preschool providers, advising on strategic policy in higher education, and promoting high quality standards for early childhood education.
EXAR consists of the following directorates:
- Early Childhood Education
- External Relations Policy
- Strategic Resource Management
- Higher Education and Tertiary Policy
- National Initiatives and Performance
- Office of the Deputy Secretary
The focus for EXAR’s work over the period 2017-2020 is set out in the division’s Strategic Priorities document. The priorities derive from directions set out in the Department of Education Strategic Plan and the NSW Government State Plan, and are focused on areas for which EXAR has particular responsibility.
